*blows dust of mic* It’s been a while, hasn’t it? How are you all doing?
Despite saying in my last blog post that I was going to get back into blogging, I haven’t posted in a couple of months now.
This is mainly because I’ve had a busy few months and a lot of unexpected things happened in my personal life (which I may or may not write a post about), but things are looking up now and I’m excited to be sharing the details of this readathon.
Graphic Novelathon is a readathon created by Charlotte and myself, with the aim of reading as many graphic novels and manga volumes as you can in one weekend.
The readathon runs from 00.01am on Saturday 20th August to 11.59pm on Sunday 21st August 2022.
You can read as many or as few graphic novels or manga volumes as you like over the weekend and there are four optional challenges to take part in.
Charlotte and I have been planning to host this readathon for a while, so I’ve been saving all my graphic novels for it and, as a result, I have quite a stack.
Read a graphic novel by a debut author/illustrator: Crumbs; Raven (Raven is Cami Garcia’s debut graphic novel from what I can tell)
Read a graphic novel that’s part of a series: My Brother’s Husband volume 2
Read a graphic novel that was/will be released in 2021 or 2022: Crumbs
Read a graphic novel that has diverse rep: Heartstopper volume 4
We’ll be hosting reading sprints on both Saturday and Sunday, and will be chatting about what we’re reading, so feel free to come join us.
Saturday’s live will be 4.30pm to 7.30pm BST and Sunday’s will be 2.30pm to 6.30pm BST.
Saturday’s liveshow link can be found here.
Sunday’s link can be found here.
If you’re taking part in the readathon, do share your progress on Twitter and Instagram and tag us both so we can see what you’re reading!
We’ll be using the hashtag #graphicnovelathon to update our own progress.
Have you read many graphic novels recently? Are you thinking of taking part in the readathon?
