That’s right, gang, I’m doing another readathon. This time it’s Indian Lit Readathon, which is a 48-hour readathon where readers pick up books by Indian authors or authors of Indian origin.
The readathon is happening this weekend, over July 6th and 7th, and is being hosted by these wonderful humans:
Charvi @Not Just Fiction
Nandini @Unputdownable Books
Shruti @This Is Lit
It starts at 12am on Saturday, Indian Standard Time, and goes on to run till midnight on Sunday, but I’ll be joining in on UK time, so I’ll be slightly behind everyone in India.
Anyone can participate and there’s still time to sign up here.
Rules
- Only books written by Indian and Indian-origin authors are allowed.
- You need to complete at least one line on the Bingo board to be a readathon finisher.
- Books of any genre are allowed.
Here are the books I’m hoping to read:
Challenges:
Bhishma Parva: A book about family dynamics – As Kismet Would Have It
Stri Parva: A book with feminist themes – Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows
Chakravyuh: A book which promises plot twists – There’s Something About Sweetie
I know I’m reading two Sandhya Menon books but, sue me, I just love her writing. I’m reading Kismet as an e-book, Sweetie in paperback, and Erotic Stories on audio, so I feel like I’ve got a good mix. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish all three over the course of the weekend.
Are you taking part in any readathons over the summer? If you’re doing Indian Lit Readathon, let me know what you’re reading!
There is no shane in reading Sandhya Menon books, that’s the best thing you could do!!! 😍
Haha you are 100% correct! I only ended up getting to As Kismet Would Have it, but I really liked it 🙂
Thanks so much for participating, Kate! ❤
Did you enjoy Erotic Stories…?
Thanks for having me! I really did, it was so much funnier than I expected and some scenes were really emotional!
