Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s theme is:
January 23: Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Anything/Much About
I laughed when I read this one, because there are so many books that I remember thoroughly enjoying, but if you asked me to describe the plot I’d draw a blank. Just a few of these are:
Some of these books I read back in high school and it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten all but the major plot points. I remember that specific death in HP6. I remember Gangsey shenanigans in Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I remember sword wielding battles in Heir of Fire (or was that Crown of Midnight? Or just every book in the Throne of Glass series?), and four thousand characters in A Clash of Kings. But I don’t remember the exact plot details and character personas. I can remember the feelings of excitement and tension I had while reading them, but not why I was feeling those emotions.
I feel think there was some serious drama in City of Glass? I’m relatively certain that nothing actually happened in Hedda Gabler, though. If anyone can actually remember the specifics of what happened in Across the Nightingale Floor, please let me know, because I loved that book, but no longer own a copy.
Which books do you remember liking at the time, but have now completely forgotten (except a plot twist or two)? Are there any that you read years ago, but still stick in your mind vividly? (If so, what’s your secret?)
