Hey guys, happy Friday!
The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple
This week I’ve been racing through The Arsonist by Stephanie Oakes, which is out on August 22nd.
So the soldier told him about a bay in California, where he was from, where you can stand on a rock and see nothing but ocean, where you can forget that there is any such things as oil and fire. He told this for himself as much as my father, because the soldier’s soul was oil-spotted and ruined by now too.
I’ve been looking forward to this book for a couple of months now and it’s living up to all my expectations. This quote is from a particularly atmospheric scene, so I’m pleased it fell on p.56 and I got to share it with you. I’d definitely recommend picking up a copy of The Arsonist when it’s released if you like history, mystery, and diversity.
What are you guys reading this weekend? What else is on your TBR for the rest of August? Let me know!
Oooh I’m intrigued! This book sounds good!
I’ve finished it now, so I can say for certain that it’s excellent! Would definitely recommend!
