Top Ten Tuesday: Book Recs for People who Love the Enemies to Friends Trope

Happy Tuesday once again!

Top Ten Tuesday is finally back from hiatus, and a huge congratulations to Jamie @BrokeandBookish, who had her baby and (judging by her twitter) is doing pretty great. I’ve been doing my own topics while Jamie has been away, but I’m excited to finally be back doing a shared topic again this week and that topic is:

August 15:  Ten book recommendations for ______________: (Skies the limit here…examples: for Hufflepuffs, for fans of Game of Thrones, for people who don’t normally read YA, for animal lovers, for video game lovers, etc.

My choice for this week is book recommendations for readers who love enemies to friends (or maybe something more). Unashamedly, I’m a sucker for it.

Spot the odd one out? This was a fun topic to do, as I had to really weigh up whether I considered two characters ‘enemies’  in the beginning of each novel, or whether they just had a strong dislike for each other.

Which books would you recommend for people who love the ‘enemies to friends’ trope? Have you read any of the books on this list? Drop me a comment and let me know!

Until next time, Kate

    1. Haha I’m the same – if I see a post involving either of those or A Darker Shade of Magic I’m like ‘yes hello I’m here, did you say my name?’ Aww that’s a shame about Carry On (I really loved it) but we can’t always like the same books – the world would be a very one dimensional place if we all did! Thanks for the link, I’ll definitely check yours out! ❤

  1. Great picks for this week Kate. I am a massive fan of the enemies to lovers trope and it probably shows because most of the books you’ve featured this week are ones I’ve already read and loved! 🙂
Six of Crows is amazing, one of my all-time favourites, and the same goes for Percy Jackson, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, A Court of Mist and Fury, The Wrath and the Dawn, Carry On and The Raven Boys.
So many incredible picks on your list this week! 😀 ❤

  2. Percy and Annabeth’s “rivalry” was so cute to read about, especially because even as 13-year olds, their romantic chemistry was incredibly obvious. And I loved watching Blue warm up to Gansey. (I also love how you snuck in Shakespeare XD)

  3. I recently read Carry On and A Court of Mist a Fury, and LOVED both of them, I’m glad they made the list.

I also read an ARC, I Hate Everyone But You by Gaby Dunn and Allison Raskin, and it fits this theme.
